YDT becomes Fujian's first self-operated China–Europe / China→UK truck express specialist

2020 was a watershed for us. This year the company completed a strategic upgrade and officially launched self-operated China–Europe / China→UK truck express, becoming the first provider of this channel in Fujian.

Why truck express

After four years of air first mile, we knew exactly where the client pain was: air freight is fast enough to satisfy, but expensive enough to hurt. Especially for bulky, mid-value goods like footwear and home goods, air cost eats almost all the profit, while sea freight's 40+ days cannot keep up with European marketplace restocking at all.

That gap in the middle — ten to twenty days, cost between air and sea — had always been in demand, but had never been stably served.

Why it must be self-operated

The truck express chain is long: domestic pickup, border exit, transit through Kazakhstan and Russia, EU entry clearance, and last-mile delivery. Hand off any leg and the whole line's speed becomes "at someone else's mercy".

So we chose to self-operate, concretely in three things:

• Self-operated booking — hold the space and not be squeezed out in peak season;
• Self-operated bonded warehouse — set up in Xinjiang to finish trailer swap and document pre-review before exit;
• Self-operated fleet — keep last-mile capacity in our own hands rather than hiring ad hoc.

Looking back now, the 2020 decision turned the company from "a forwarder" into "a logistics enterprise with its own capacity and border capability". All the network expansion and warehousing construction in the following years proceeded along this line.
